A new music project, 3rd From Normal, a Bluegrass/Americana band new in our area got a great opening gig with a Friday Night Concert in Plaza Park, in May. The Chico based band consists of Shane Meyers – lead guitar, mandolin, vocals, Melinda Maxwell – rhythm guitar, banjo, saxophone, vocals, Travis Miller – bass, vocals, Lloyd Wangberg – drums, percussion. Olivia Johnson, drums and Frank Miele, saxophone and flute joined the downtown park performance.

The group is from around our community with Meyers hailing from Durham, Maxwell, from Chico, and Wangberg from Butte Valley. Here’s to new music, and new bands!
